Engagement shoot: Christine + Adam

“Adam had told me his Mom wanted to have us over for dinner at her house on Friday evening so I hopped on the Metra train after a busy day of work and headed west from downtown Chicago. Adam was driving North from Springfield, IL and called me to tell me he was running late. I arrived in his home town and wandered along the cute shops near the train station. I was several blocks away from the station sitting outside enjoying the nice summer weather when Adam called me say he was at the train station, but wanted to know where I was. I told him I was down a few blocks and asked him to just come grab me on the way to his parents home. Adam was fairly insistent upon me walking back to the train station, so I gave up and walked to where I thought he would be parked. I was surprised not to find him waiting in his car, but rather, he was near the station and looked as if something terrible had happened. He looked so nervous and was as white as a ghost. Either something really good was coming (engagement!) or something unfortunate had happened. My mind started racing as we walked into the train station where he got down on one knee and proposed. Even after messing up his plans, the proposal was perfect in its own way knowing that he and I would soon live together and start that next journey of our lives. No more Amtrak, long drives et all- we were in it for the long haul and I couldn’t be more excited.” — Christine
