“It was really important to us that our wedding fully represent who we are and include elements of all the things we love most – design, good food and good music. Although our wedding did not have a specific theme, it did have a distinct style. The ceremony and reception were held at a distinctly modern venue, located in Downtown Montreal, so we used our wedding accessories to bring in vintage elements. Our C + M monogram served as the logo for all of our stationary and for our burlap wedding favor baggies, which were also stamped with our monogram. Our color scheme was black, white and yellow (with lots of polka dots!) We went for a very organic look with the flowers (white dahlias, goldenrods, dusty millers, succulents etc).

Our nondenominational ceremony incorporated elements from both the Italian/Catholic and Jewish traditions: lighting a unity candle (with burlap accessories), the breaking of a glass and readings in both English and Italian. Behind us stood a wall of white balloons, in all different sizes, resembling more a wall of fluffy clouds and acting as the perfect backdrop for our ceremony. For our processional song, a jazz band played a beautiful instrumental version of Bon Iver’s For Emma and a more upbeat recessional song, Here Comes Your Man by The Pixies. After the meal, our guests were treated to more drinks, dancing, a photo booth (courtesy of our fantastic photographers) and a sweet table that was so beautifully styled, you were afraid to touch it. We are thrilled with how the day turned out. Everything was perfect, we could not have asked for a better day!”
