With so many couples living together before marriage, its obvious that most have already set up their home with the usual registry items, like plates, glasses, serveware, etc. So rather than clogging up your already tight space (because in NYC, who has a ton of space anyway??), you can register for fun experiences through Better Ever After. The difference with Better Ever After is that you’re not registering for cash, you’re getting gift certificates for actual experiences….like learning how to brew your own beer, taking a neighborhood food tour, or getting an interior design consultation! There are lots of activities to choose from, and its a great way to keep that wedding bliss going long after the day is done.
So far Better Ever After is only in NYC, but they’re expanding, so vote for where their next city will be here!

When Chad moved to Brooklyn, he came with pretty much a couple of suitcases and an X-box (thankfully we got rid of the xbox pretty quick!). I had already been living in our studio apartment for a couple of months so I was established in the furniture department, but we needed to pick up some stuff for him pretty quick, like a wardrobe, desk, etc. We managed to hit a sample sale in our neighborhood and scored a side table with a little ding in it that he just HAD to have by the sofa for $25. We still have it 7 years later, and I’m definitely due for an upgrade.
This little gold side table is totally up my alley, but this white & espresso number or walnut table is probably more Chad. The great thing is, if we were getting married all over again, we could register for any of them at Target. And while we’re at it, might as well throw in some goodies when we entertain, like some new barware & bartools. That’s the great thing about registering, even though you may already have something, like plates, wine glasses or even pillows, its the perfect time to upgrade them to something new!
So tell me, is there anything in your house that you’d like to upgrade when you set up your registry?

Bridal showers can be so…well, pastel sometimes. They always seem to be chock full of pinks, baby yellows and lavenders. That might be great for a baby shower, but I love the idea of making it super graphic with a base of black and white. That way, if it’s a co-ed shower, the guys won’t feel like they’ve stepped into a powder puff! Once you’ve established your base, I love punching it up with bright colors from the food to the flowers. It doesn’t even have to be a ton of color…just pairing one would be striking and refreshing! How convenient would it be to register for gifts in the same palette?? There are so many options at Target that you’ll have no problem covering all your color bases.
And don’t forget to enter your “Be Yourself, Together” themed photos over at Brit & Co, where the grand prize winner will receive a $500 giftcard to Target and 4 additional winners will get $100 giftcards! You can enter until 10/15, so get those photos entered!
