Wedding websites are a great way to get info out to your guests, keep everyone up to date, and for petes sake, save a couple of trees! Nearlyweds is one of the FEW wedsites I would personally use because their templates are so cool and hip. Best part is, if you really love your template, chances are theres an invitation that matches! In fact, they’ve just partnered with Wedding Paper Divas for a line of invites and websites….so in honor of that partnership, Nearlyweds is offering one lucky Brooklyn Bride reader a FREE website (worth $50, thats 2 years online kids!!) and $50 towards its corresponding invitations. All you’ve got to do is comment below with what your favorite website template is, and a randomly selected comment will win! Contest is open until midnite on Sunday, and the winner will be announced Monday. Good luck!!

I think generally, [and this could be a BIG generalization] engaged couples want to do some DIY for their wedding…whether to cut some costs or add a personalized touch to the affair. The DIY Wedding, a book by Kelly Bare, can really help with that! Its got great tips on how to make lots of wedding day items, from custom cufflinks, to your own invitations!
Sooooo, here comes another contest! Leave a comment below with what you’re thinking about DIY-ing for your wedding, or if you’re married, what you’ve already DIY’d, and a randomly selected winner will be announced this Friday for a copy of the book. Good luck!!

Jason of Jason Groupp Photography contacted me last night with a sad story that may just have a happy ending for one local couple getting married. You can read about the story here and whats been taking place so far. And here’s what Jason intends to do [more detail here]….
I am looking for a couple who was wronged by the local behemoth, Celebration Studios.
Celebration Studios has left thousands of couples out in the cold and it breaks my heart. Celebration Studios has left a black mark on our industry and what they’ve done to these couples is a terrible reflection on our craft.
While we (local photographers) had nothing to do with this and owe nothing to those left stranded by CS, I can’t help but feel for these poor people who’ve been robbed. I can’t help everyone, but I can help one couple. I challenge my colleagues to do the same….
If you have been wronged by Celebrations Studios and are a couple who just cannot by any means afford to hire a new photographer, please email me your story with a photo to:
The winner will receive:
10 hours wedding day coverage
An online gallery for sharing and/or ordering pictures + DVD with images
40 page 9.5X13 GraphiStudio album
The top 3 entries will be posted on Jason’s blog on February 11 and one will be selected by Jason and a few of his colleagues, including me! I encourage anyone who knows a couple stuck in this horrible situation to check this great opportunity.

Rockmelon, the fabulous duo of videographers based in Brooklyn, is hosting a little contest…here’s the info directly from Leyda.
I thought your blog readers might be interested in a contest we are running until Jan 18– up for grabs is an iTunes Gift Certificate for $20… the twist/treat is that it is a GC for the Australian iTunes music store. The main thing they need to do is guess how many lucky pennies we collected from August-December 2007.
A lot of great music by artists based in Australia and Europe have limited releases that are only available in Australia (that never get to the US) so this offer should be a very cool one for music lovers. This contest is open to anyone in any location.
For more info, check their site…..
