You guys! I can’t believe Weddings in Color is almost out in stores and online! You may remember back when I first told you about the book that it was supposed to come out in January of 2016….well then it got pushed to November of this year, but with it being so close to my due date with Baby B, we were able to push it up even further to October 13! Thats next week! And to top it all off, this past Thursday we were super excited to find out that Weddings in Color made it to Amazon’s best new books of October list in the Crafts, Hobbies and Homes category! I guess that means we did something right with going with our gut and putting out the book we wished we had when planning our own weddings. Minhee and I are so proud of how it came out and are so excited to get it into your hands!
Check it out! Brides Magazine has a new look, and as you can see, its gorgeous! Take a sneak peek at the story below…I love how its shot kinda paparazzi style!
To celebrate the new look, Brides is letting me give away 10 1-year long subscriptions! Want one? Leave a comment below and we’ll pick a couple of winners for Friday!

The Bridal Bible by Sharon Naylor and the gals from Junebug Weddings (happy early birthday Christy!!)
The DIY Bride: An Affair to Remember by Khris Cochran
One Girl Cookies Cookbook by Dawn Casale & David Crofton
And though not wedding related in the least, I had to throw in my cousins new book, Paris vs. New York by Vahram Muratyan!
Brides New York is looking for an engaged couple in the NY/NJ/CT area for their Find Our Wedding Style feature. You might remember our apartment was featured last year, and I can tell you first hand its totally fun! If you’re interested, read on.
We photograph an engaged couple’s apartment. Based on elements from their home (furniture, wall décor, knick knacks, etc.) we create ideas for their wedding. The couple is not required to use any of our ideas, and it’s okay if they already have elements of their wedding in place. The purpose of the story is to show readers how items from their day to day life can inspire great ideas, and how their interior design aesthetic can be translated into wedding details. No fancy digs needed—what I’m looking for is a distinct style we’ll have fun working with. All that’s required from the couple is an afternoon for our team to come
over and take photos.
If you know of any interested couples, please have them email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. They should include the following in the email:
-any thoughts they already have about their wedding
-a brief description about what they feel their style is
-five to seven photos of their home (a few wide shots and close ups of any details they feel are particularly “them”) so we can get of what their living space is like
-one or two pictures of themselves
I would love to have submissions by Monday, August 24th.
