I’m excited to announce a new site coming up next month from the ladies of 57Grand called Revel…..part blog, part shopping site, but all modern, its going to be a great place to get inspired for hip weddings. I’ve been helping out on the back end and its been a real labor of love to get it off the ground. So excited for you all to see it in a few weeks!

Wouldn’t this car be an adorable flower girl or ring bearer gift? But who am I kidding, I’d want it for myself!
Now to the good stuff….the winner of $150 at Minted is #30 Heather! Congrats! As a special treat for everyone who entered, use code BROOKLYNBRIDE15 for 15% off your purchase for 1 week only!
Thanks to everyone who has written this last week in regards to my call for contributors….I’ve been overwhelmed by card swap entries but I’ll be going through all the emails this weekend! And speaking of the card swap, you’ve got a couple of days left to sign up….I’ll be closing the list on Thansgiving.
Have a great weekend!

We’re looking to expand our team since some contributors have moved on to bigger and better things. We’re particularly looking for weekly and monthly contributors covering DIY, product roundups, inspiration shoots, etc. You don’t have to be in the wedding industry to apply; we love seeing weddings from a design point of view! If you’re interested, drop us a line with CONTRIBUTOR as the subject, your info, link to your blog, topics you’re interested in covering, and why you think you’d be the perfect fit. You’ll need to have a strong modern aesthetic, knowledge in WordPress and Photoshop, and be able to have access to a photographer or be able to take professional looking pictures (particularly for DIY projects).
Looking forward to hearing from you!

THE CARD SWAP IS NOW CLOSED
Can you believe its already that time again? I’m having trouble coming to grips that the year is already almost over and that Thanksgiving is right around the corner! Its also a little hard to believe that this will be the FIFTH year I’m doing this! 5! Its been so great to see new names crop up in my inbox over the years who are either doing the swap for the first time or since the very beginning…not just locally, but globally as well.
In true card swap tradition, I asked a talented designer to design the logo for this years card swap, so thank you to Annemarie Buckley of Scout’s Honor Co! Im such a fan of hers and so grateful she was able to do it!
Here are the rules:
Send an email to me at brooklynbride [at] gmail [dot] com with Holiday Card Swap in the subject line by November 23 [day before Thanksgiving]. Include your name, address, email address, website/blog address and twitter handle [if you have these]. Please send your email in this format…
123 Main St. #25
Anytown NY 12345
– By December 1, I will have emailed you the names and addresses of up to 5 people to send cards to.
– Your cards must be handmade [think Gocco, glitter, Photoshop, cut + paste, sewing, etc….] Make something that’s easy to do multiples of. You’ll be sending 1 card to each person on your list, and add in a special holiday greeting!
– Send out your cards by December 15 at the latest! Easy squeezy!
Wait patiently by your mailbox! The swap is open to our international audience, so pay special attention to postage. Please don’t disappoint your partners if you know you won’t be able to send out cards on time, or at all.

Chad and I just got back from a quick jaunt to Portland…we’d never been so it was a fun break from our usual routine. I was so happy that we were able to schedule it during the weekend of Chelsea‘s flower class, so now I’m feeling pretty confident about making my own fancy arrangements at home! If you ever have a chance to take one of her classes, definitely take it! [You can see more pics from the flower class over on our Facebook page] Hope you enjoy some of the sights and tastes we feasted on while in PDX!
