Well, Thanksgiving is tomorrow, so its time to think about what we’re all thankful for! I’m so grateful to you dear readers, for checking in every day to see whats happening in the world of weddings, to my fabulous contributors, and of course, my sweet family and friends.
And for those of you planning on hitting the Black Friday sales, I haven’t been able to help myself and have already started my gift guides over on Pinterest and Luvocracy, so if you’re in the mood to shop without the crowds, definitely check them out. Wishing you all a very happy Thanksgiving, and I’ll see you back here on Monday where we’ll have 2 great giveaways to kick off the holiday season.

THE CARD SWAP IS NOW CLOSED
Can you guys believe its been 7 years since the card swap started? I definitely can’t, and yet here we are! It’s November, so time to get those creative juices flowing!
In true card swap tradition, I asked a talented designer to design the logo for this years card swap, so a HUGE thank you to my sweet friend Tara Hogan of Ink + Wit! She’s got a wonderfully organic style and I love that she’s worked in my latest obsession into the logo….scallops!
Here are the rules:
Send an email to me at brooklynbride [at] gmail [dot] com with Holiday Card Swap in the subject line by November 25 [so you’ve got 2 full weeks to enter]. Include your name, address, email address, website/blog address and twitter handle [if you have these]. Please send your email in this format…
123 Main St. #25
Anytown NY 12345
– By December 1, I will have emailed you the names and addresses of up to 5 people to send cards to.
– Your cards should be handmade or self-designed [think Gocco, glitter, Photoshop, cut + paste, sewing, etc….] Make something that’s easy to do multiples of. You’ll be sending 1 card to each person on your list, and add in a special holiday greeting!
– Send out your cards by December 15 at the latest! Easy peezy!
Then you just wait patiently by your mailbox! The swap is open to our international audience, so pay special attention to postage [letters to any country in the world including Canada are now all the same price]. Please don’t disappoint your partners if you know you won’t be able to send out cards on time, or at all.
Can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Like many of you, I’m pretty devastated that Google Reader will soon be no more as of Monday. I was a slow adopter but once I started, it was hard to look at blog any other way. I’ve held on til the bitter end, but if you need somewhere else to find your BB fix, you can subscribe via Feedly or Bloglovin’ (email subscription is coming soon!). I still haven’t made up my mind on which I prefer for myself, so I’d love your thoughts! Which do you prefer?
