MODERN-CENTERPIECES

Don’t these images make you want to throw a wedding? Or any party for that reason? The beautiful thing about modern weddings is that you can pretty much do whatever you darn well please. With the liberty to go crazy, how are you going to do a centerpiece? With tassels? Balloons? Fruit? Grass? The options are endless! Get creative! These are some of my favorite ideas.

Donna Wilson inspired tablescape with DIY planters

succulent centerpiece on kraft runner

Finishing up with the Donna Wilson inspiration today with a last tablescape from Matthew Robbins.  They were able to utilize a lot of the same succulents from yesterday in a totally different way, just proving there are so many options out there when it comes to centerpieces!  Paired with painted DIY’d concrete planters and a painted graphic kraft runner, this is a decidedly more modern look, perfect for a bridal shower or low key wedding.  The planters end up making great favors at the end!

Mossy Donna Wilson inspired tablescape

Continuing on with the Donna Wilson theme, I asked Matthew Robbins and his team if they would be interested in trying their hand at interpreting a tablescape inspired by Donna…they not only did 1, but 2 inspiring tabletops, but today we’ll focus on this spectacular one utilizing moss & succulents.  It was actually inspired by a rug that Donna had seen while in Milan, and really does make for a striking centerpiece…so ethereal and whimsical!  Be sure to check back tomorrow when we take elements from this tablescape and make an entirely new one!

Succulents in your modern wedding

6-ways-to-use-succulents-at-your-wedding

You know how succulents are totally in right now? Well, in my humble opinion, they ain’t going anywhere! This trend is here to stay! I love seeing how people can apply them in various creative ways (psst: just came across this informative site, Succulents and Sunshine, which tells you everything you need to know about them.) I think they are so refreshing in a wedding. They’re crisp and minimal and simple, perfect for a couple who wants to do things a bit differently.

Use succulents in so may ways like the following:

  1. Succulents in a floral arrangement for centerpieces
  2. Succulents in a monogram letter
  3. Succulents in a bride’s bouquet
  4. Succulents as party favors
  5. Succulents as name tags
  6.  Succulents on a wedding cake (how cool is that, right?!)

Would you ever consider using succulents at your wedding? How so? Comment below!
