Modern woodland editorial

009279-r1-013

Bringing the outdoors in was the crux of this editorial shoot, and mixing a little bit of modern with a little bit of rustic makes it the perfect setting for any couple.  And seriously, who wouldn’t love dining under a canopy of greeny goodness?

Centerpiece ideas from Boundless Brooklyn

If you’re looking to get a little crafty with your wedding, definitely get one of these billboards (or water towers if you’re getting married in Brooklyn)!  You can paint, decoupage, do whatever you want to them – or Boundless Brooklyn will silkscreen them for you…I could see them as table numbers, signage, photobooth props…the possibilities are “boundless!”

Laid-back beach inspiration

beachy wedding dress

This beachy inspiration shoot has me feeling all sorts of feels…its modern, but has a nice laid-back vibe I’m totally digging.

A little more about the shoot:

This inspiration shoot from Kelly Kollar Photography focuses on the elegance of a seaside wedding concept. The beachfront setting is a beautiful backdrop for shipwreck details and nautical elements that would look so fresh for a coastal gathering. Event designer Brita Olsen Creative brings together soft blues and whites in a tablescape made of vintage glassware, china, and gold flatware from Petunia Rose. A raw fabric runner decorated with shells and stunning florals by Peartree Flowers is accented with stone place cards with hand calligraphy by Eliza Gwendolyn. Lavender roses, scabiosa, anemone and wild grasses make up the unique centerpieces. A “message in a bottle” escort display would be such a creative way to show guests to their seats. We love how the subtle sparkle is reflected in pearlescent details on the macarons and lace adorned wedding cake by Lael Cakes, which would be so dreamy at any oceanfront affair.  Makeup artist Stacie Ford and Stylist Ani Hovhannisyan show how you can elevate the undone beauty of the sea by adding a red lip alongside whimsical couture wedding gowns by Lanvin and Mark Zunino.

Maidenchange

For you all ladies planning on changing your name after getting married, pay attention!  Maidenchange is a new service that makes it super easy to deal with all the paperwork associated with getting your name changed officially.  Did you know it can take upwards of 10 hours to figure out all the instructions, the addresses, and not to mention, actually filling out the forms?  Maidenchange takes away all the headache by having just one form you fill out on your computer or mobile device, and in a few days, they’ll send you all the forms already filled out, along with instructions and pre-stamped AND addressed envelopes for everywhere you need to send them!  I tried it out myself last week and within a couple of days, I had a folder in my hand with everything I needed…all I had to add were a few personal details like my social and a couple of other pieces of info. Wish there was something like this when I was getting married…it would have saved me a ton of time!
