What is your aesthetic? Classic & practical…with a bit of vintage & modern in the mix.

How does your studio style convey your professional aesthetic? The space is not too fussy/stuffy and I believe has lots of inspiring details!

Favorite part of your studio? My big zebra print chair…I didn’t want a traditional office chair. It’s more like a mini couch I can relax & work on.

Where do you go for inspiration? Wedding and design blogs.

What tool do you use in your business that you can’t live without? Two things…my iPhone & my GPS…don’t know what I would do without them!

Is there anything you’d upgrade to? I would love to have a shared studio/storefront space with other creative folks someday…like a photographer & invitation designer.

Anything else we should know? I have a hard time throwing away paper…especially letterpress cards…I found a solution to display them on the fun carousel display from Pottery Barn. It sits on my meeting table so everyone can seem them!

Find our Wedding Style couple search

Brides New York is looking for an engaged couple in  the NY/NJ/CT area for their Find Our Wedding Style feature.  You might remember our apartment was featured last year, and I can tell you first hand its totally fun!  If you’re interested, read on.

FindOurStyle1 copy

We photograph an engaged couple’s apartment. Based on elements from their home (furniture, wall décor, knick knacks, etc.) we create ideas for their wedding. The couple is not required to use any of our ideas, and it’s okay if they already have elements of their wedding in place. The purpose of the story is to show readers how items from their day to day life can inspire great ideas, and how their interior design aesthetic can be translated into wedding details. No fancy digs needed—what I’m looking for is a distinct style we’ll have fun working with. All that’s required from the couple is an afternoon for our team to come
over and take photos.

If you know of any interested couples, please have them email me at leigh_crandall@condenast.com. They should include the following in the email:
-wedding date
-wedding location
-any thoughts they already have about their wedding
-a brief description about what they feel their style is
-five to seven photos of their home (a few wide shots and close ups of any details they feel are particularly “them”) so we can get of what their living space is like
-one or two pictures of themselves

I would love to have submissions by Monday, August 24th.

Real wedding: Christina + Jack

ChristinaJackWeb (1 of 287)

ChristinaJackWeb (101 of 287)

As I mentioned last week, my dearest friend Christina and her hunny Jack got married up in New Hampshire in a gorgeous, homemade wedding at the Harris Center.  It truly was a labor of love, with friends pitching in with their various talents, and I swear to you, I have never heard more heartfelt vows than the ones these two shared.  Jack’s friend Nadine did the flowers, her boyfriend Scott was the DJ, I played wedding planner and assistant florist, their friend Doug got ordained to marry them, Christina’s sister did the invites, and another friend Andrew mixed some fabulous cocktails (honey lavender lemonade, yum!)  The food was all organic, and there was no wedding cake (egads!), but something WAY better….an ice cream bar with fresh local ice cream, berries and cream.  Jen Huang did an amazing job with the photos and has some more up on her blog, so enjoy!
