Wedding Style Guide giveaway

Before the wedding, Jane of the Australian magazine, Wedding Style Guide, emailed me about, what else, wedding stuff, and we got to talking about the presence of international wedding magazines over here. I’ve happened to see issues of Wedding Style Guide at local bodega’s and the occasional Barnes and Noble, but for those of you who don’t know the magazine, its incredibly insightful, with great images in a compact size. They’ve got lot of goodies on their website AND their new blog too. Jane was nice enough to send me a bunch of their latest issues [all the way from Australia!] to give away to you guys, so you know the drill….leave a comment below and 5 will be picked at random to receive the 2 issues. Contest ends Friday so get those comments in!

Vendor reviews: invitations + calligraphy

Invitations: Jaime Viñas of Viñas Design
Jaime did our invitations as a favor to me since I work with his wife, and I love how they turned out! We worked together throwing around ideas, and ended up with a set that truly reflected Brooklyn, from Coney Island, to the cherry blossoms of Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Everything was very elegant, while staying very modern and crisp.

Calligraphy: Betsy Dunlap
Betsy’s calligraphy was the talk of the town once invites went out, and I was very pleased with how everything turned out! She did our outer envelopes in a custom green, which went perfectly with the ink used to print the invites. People told me they hung up the envelopes on their fridges along with the invitations, so that definitely says something! I asked her to also do our table numbers and some signage, which of course also turned out beautifully. She was a dream to work with!

Birdcage for sale – SOLD

As much as I’d love to keep my birdcage, its just not an option with a studio apartment, so I’m selling it. Originally bought from Rose and Radish, I’ve spray-painted it a green, but you can spray over it with any color you want. One corner at the top of the cage pops up, but its easily fixed with some hot glue. There is a pullout shelf at the bottom for easy removal of your cards. Its the only birdcage I’ve found with great modern lines, so hopefully you’ll agree.

Size: 11.75″l x 11.75″w x 18″h
I paid $100 including shipping, but will sell it for $50….pick-up only. Email me if you’re seriously interested only.
SOLD

Vendor reviews: flowers

Florist: Seaport Flowers
I have nothing but amazing things to say about Amy and her team at Seaport Flowers. We met with them a few times over the year and they always understood what I was going for with our flowers. Towards the end I was losing steam with everything going on, and I left all the church decorations up to Amy, the only direction she had was color….what she came up with was beautiful and exactly what we didn’t even know we wanted. Everyone should just stop by her store for a bit of inspiration.

Flowers for rehearsal dinner: Fleurs
Jessy was amazing in taking on this task…I honestly told her to do whatever she wanted, and she came up with these beautiful arrangements of purple flowers in galvanized tins and moss….so beautiful, in fact, I brought them back to the hotel to decorate my room so I could enjoy them a little longer. With zero direction from me, she really did a stellar job.
