Cool cake series: Golden dots

gold dot cake

This cake was an obvious one for me to want to see come to life because the vase it was based on was already so cake looking to begin with!  Betsy at Nine Cakes executed it flawlessly, and its the perfect addition to any wedding looking for a little glitz.  I could even see it at the New Years wedding with some sparklers popping out from the top!

Cool cake series: scallops

blue & silver scalloped cake

The scallop pattern was one of the first that I wanted to tackle because I’ve become mildly obsessed with it, so I love how Betsy of Nine Cakes translated it to be so dainty and sweet, with a hint of edible glitter.  Its perfect for a wedding, but would also work great for bridal or baby showers as well.

Cool cake series: geometric

yellow & pink geometric cake

This months cool cake by Nine Cakes was inspired by this rug from Studio Joa Herrenknecht.  I had seen it a while back on Pinterest and instantly knew it would make a great wedding inspiration.  Its an easy way to dress up an otherwise plain white cake, and it can even spill onto other desserts on the table.

Donna Wilson inspired tablescape with DIY planters

succulent centerpiece on kraft runner

Finishing up with the Donna Wilson inspiration today with a last tablescape from Matthew Robbins.  They were able to utilize a lot of the same succulents from yesterday in a totally different way, just proving there are so many options out there when it comes to centerpieces!  Paired with painted DIY’d concrete planters and a painted graphic kraft runner, this is a decidedly more modern look, perfect for a bridal shower or low key wedding.  The planters end up making great favors at the end!
