Welcome back!

Hey everyone! Welcome to 2009! I’m so excited to be back blogging…hopefully the holidays have been as relaxing to you as they were to me… We started off our Christmas down in Louisiana with Chad’s family, then headed back for a week of quasi-relaxation….I spent most of my days in front of the laptop getting some exciting stuff together for Brooklyn Bride, but worked in some time with friends too.

So, to start this week off, lots of fun things that got started in 2008, but have flourished in 2009… stay tuned.

[That lovely lady above is my cousin Sheila who just got engaged at New Years….and yes, that IS her engagement ring! Designed 20 years ago by a Dutch designer, she’s the only one who has this particular version]

i heart brooklyn designers: Jane D’Arensbourg

I’ve always loved Jane’s stuff ever since I saw some of her jewelry at Auto. She’s got some new pieces that are just fabulous for brides….especially her clear, pyrex necklaces…edgy, hip, and stylish.

Linda Lee Johnson

Chad and I have managed to finally get some wedding things done recently, including finding the wedding band of my dreams! Its by jewelry designer Linda Lee Johnson, who is exclusively sold at Barneys New York, as far as I can tell. I wish I could show you a picture, but any photos I’ve taken don’t do it justice, and there isn’t one online, so I thought I’d share some of her other work.

I was very excited to finally see Bonbon Oiseau‘s goods in person at the Divine Studio Holiday Craft Sale. Deborah makes beautiful jewelry, in addition to bridal hair pieces, flower tucks, and corsages….she will even work with you for a custom piece!

Emily Amey

Saw Emily’s work on Oh Joy! and had to post! I love how organic her work is, taking cues from the sea. Who knew squid tentacles could be sexy?
