Honeymoon staycation ideas

I love getting well styled photoshoots in my inbox….I feel like they can capture a new idea really well, and show brides how it can be accomplished.  This one comes thanks to Erica from Tinsel & Twine….I’ll let her explain!  Thanks Erica!

The theme of this photoshoot is a Honeymoon Staycation. We imagined a sweet couple with enough love and wanderlust between them to fill a New York City apartment … but just not the funds to go somewhere far, far away.

We chose a variety of complementary colors, shapes, and textures, but kept our table purposefully imperfect. Each placesetting was dressed with a collection of travel-related accessories like vintage binoculars, passports, and sculptural globes.  To add to the homespun feel of the decor, we created a mobile installation of fanned tissue paper and newsprint.

We also DIY’d a multi-colored cloth and yarn rope to snake down the length of the table. Rather than adding flowery plant-life, we decked the table with hearty airplants anchored in bowls of red beans that hint at some place exotic and tropical. To tie the story together, each placesetting holds a mock boarding pass that doubles as a love note.

We are so proud of our fabulous intern, Natasha Melo, for leading this photoshoot. And of course, we could not have pulled this fun shoot together without the help of our awesome “dream team” made up of the following talented people:
