DIY: Paper Fan

Make a statement during your wedding ceremony with super simple DIY fans for your guests.

materials

Materials needed:

  •  Decorative paper
  • 2 craft sticks
  • Glue
  • Pencil for marking
  • Ruler for measuring
  • X acto knife
  • Clip

Step 1

Measure out paper the length of your craft stick.

Mark with pencil across paper.

Take ruler and cut along with x acto knife (make sure to use some type of cutting mat underneath).

Step 2

With your 6” strips of paper, start to accordion-fold each row of paper to desired length.

Step 3

Apply glue on each side of craft stick and place in the center (back  side) of  the folded paper.

Step 4

After glue on the glue stick has set for 5 or so minutes. Apply glue on the bottom of each side of the fan.   Then clip wet edges until dry (about 15 minutes).

Step 5

While glue is drying on fan, cut about a .5 inch by 5-6 inch strip of paper (will use to wrap around glued base of fan)

 Step 6 (optional)

You can paint craft sticks to add more character to craft stick.

 Step 6

Unclip fan and apply glue to the strip of paper.  Wrap strip around tightly to add extra support to base.  Let dry.
