I sometimes think I have a sixth sense when it comes to picking out weddings of architects….maybe its because I’m married to one?  They’re always my favorite when it comes to stylish detailing, and Nora & Clay’s may be my ultimate fav!  I just can’t get over that lush bouquet!!

From the bride:

Clay and I met in architecture school, so we naturally leaned toward DIY when it came to planning our wedding. We were excited to put together a fun weekend to share our beloved Brooklyn with our family and friends. The various activities and events took us through some of favorite BK spots, including Frankies, Smorgasburg, Brooklyn Bridge Park, and Smack Mellon, where we capped the weekend celebration. We designed all of the graphics and paper goods and planned out the space design over some late-night studio work sessions at home. It was a true collaborative design project to put all the pieces together! On the day of, we had a talented crew of friends and family who helped make all our design planning a reality. The team at Emily Thompson Flowers worked with us to create the most stunning personal flowers, in addition to supplying beautiful stems and pear branches which our friends cut and arranged. Our friends also took on setting up the outdoor Pebble Beach ceremony and the Smack Mellon reception to create spaces exactly as we envisioned! From filling each balloon, to tying the handmade table number tags, to setting up the candles, flowers, and totes…this was truly a labor of love.We were lucky enough to work with some truly incredible vendors who were all immensely kind, talented, and just all-around-wonderful people: Chef Rossi and The Raging Skillet helped us create a unique and delicious multi-ethnic menu to reflect our cultural backgrounds (Swedish, Korean, and Midwestern); Isabelle Selby captured the day beautifully; and DJ Rob Kelley with 74 Events created one of the best dance parties we have ever experienced! The best part of the whole weekend was bringing together our loved ones from all facets of our lives, seeing them meet one another and have a great time together celebrating and dancing the night away.
