Laid-Back Romance at MyMoon

Veronica and Todd wanted their big day to be intimate and unique so they chose MyMoon for its romantic yet industrial vibe. The venue is already so full of amazing artwork and details, the couple opted to keep any additional decor simple, placing small bud vases of pink and lavender wildflowers by Rosehip Social down the center of the rustic farmhouse tables and a small jar of honey, a nod to how they met (on Bumble!), at each place setting. Make sure to check out all the photos by Angel Project and read a little more about their wedding in the bride’s own words below!

How did you meet?

We met on Bumble and met for drinks for our first date.  We hit it off immediately and and dated for a year before Todd proposed.

What is your proposal story?

Todd proposed at The Babylon Carriage House, which is where we had our first date.  It was our one year anniversary and Todd planned the proposal with the restaurant managers.  We sat down to dinner and after we ordered some wine, our song, The Luckiest by Ben Folds started to play.  I asked Todd if he asked them to play our song and suddenly he was on one knee and proposed.

What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?

The most important thing to us was our guests’ experience. We kept it intimate with 80 guests so that everyone who attended was close friends and family.  We also were particular about the flow of the night and selecting a charismatic MC. We wanted our guests to relax and celebrate all night, and that they did!

What were your favorite parts of the day?

We loved the first look.  We did it on the roof of our hotel with our bridal party present and it was such a special moment.  My Aunt was our officiant which made the ceremony so personal and meaningful for us.  We also learned a choreographed dance for our first dance that had our guests cheering us on, and that was another highlight.

What did you do for favors?

Favors were glass jars of honey.  This was one a personal touch we incorporated as nod to how we met…on Bumble.

Did you include any family heirlooms or special traditions?

I carried a handkerchief tucked into my bouquet as my “something old” that my Grandmother gave me. It belonged to my Great Aunt who is sadly no longer with us. It was nice to have something of hers with me on our day because I know she would have been so happy to celebrate us.

Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?

Make it your own!  We wanted our wedding to look and feel like us and we were able to do that through personal details in our design and keeping it intimate.
