Save the Date: Emily + Neil

It’s actually quite appropriate that this submission is late in getting to you, because we were a little late in getting on board with making our save the dates for our wedding in May. As a result of our lack of planning (or environmental responsibility, or budget-concious stance, as I sometimes choose to describe it), we decided to email them out using Emma (www.myemma.com) which is the email marketing company I work for. We were able to link the image itself to a signup form on our wedding website and gather mailing addresses for all of our guests. Since it was emailed, we wanted to create a printer-friendly save the date just in case our guests still needed to stick something on their fridge as a reminder. This gave us a chance to insert a little humor into the printable version (see PDF with instructions).

My dear husband Neil designed the save the date with plenty (too much, he might say) direction from me. My inspiration was the Keep Calm and Carry On posters from WWII (http://www.decorativethings.com/keep-calm-and-carry-on-poster.html). Neil and I both wear plastic frame glasses, and we’re kind of known for them in our circle of friends, so we wanted to use them in our design scheme.
