Engagement shoot: Dahnya + Fran

I thought these engagement pics were such a change from the usual “pretty” pictures…why NOT get a little colorful and messy with your soon-to-be-groom?  They really show the fun nature of this couple.

The paint pictures came completely out of the blue. Francis, was adamantly opposed to the idea of taking engagement pictures. One day, in an attempt to make the idea sound more appealing I proposed the paint fight (not really thinking he’d take me seriously) but he took the idea and ran with it. The more we talked about it, the more excited we got. From there it was a matter of finding a photographer willing to expose his camera to such chaos. The instant we met Clint, we knew he was the photographer for us; easygoing and creative.

The day of the session we headed over to pick up the paint (our wedding colors) and believed ourselves completely ready to go! It wasn’t until the last drop of paint had been flung that Francis & I realized we had not thought to bring a change of clothes for after the fight. The blankets we’d brought were completely futile in protecting the interior of our car so, we hopped onto the back of Clint’s truck and headed to a nearby car wash to hose each other off. Clint was such a trooper; I fear we may have left lasting hand and foot prints in his truck bed. Instead of berating us, he kept his camera going & spurred us on.
It was a day filled with browsing a bookstore, swinging in the park, dodging paint and being blasted with water- all accompanied by my future husband. And to think, I was lucky enough that such an amazing day was documented for us to look back upon for years to come! Thank you, Clint.
