Last night I checked out the always great BFF Bridal Best in Honeymoons event at the Jumeirah Essex Hotel. If you were looking for honeymoon locations and ideas, this was definitely the place to be…lots of exotic locations were represented, like Thailand and the Maldives. Since my honeymoon was long gone, I was glad to see some familiar faces…Jennifer Behr showed off some of her fabulous hairpieces [Gossip Girl is a HUGE fan], Bee from Weddingbee and Lisa Hoffman from Ceci New York were there, Mark Ingram had these 2 lovely ladies above walking around in gorgeous dresses…it was almost too much to handle! Good job BFF Bridal!
[oh, and because I’m totally lame and love celebrity sightings, I would be remiss to not mention that David Faustino was at the hotel..remember him from Married With Children?]

One Girl Cookie is a place on Dean Street in Brooklyn I’ve always wanted to try, but always happens to be closed when I’m in the neighborhood. All handmade and DELICIOUS, they just launched their new Cookie Bar for weddings last night at the BFF Event. There are many options…they can send the cookies to your caterers, they can set up the display for you at your location, or they can even be there to serve your guests! Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information……
[I’ll have more from the Best in Bridal event tomorrow!]

Jennifer Behr was one of the talented people I met last night at the BFF Event. She creates these spectacular headpieces that lean more towards the untraditional bride….perfect for me! I completely fell head over heels over her yellow feathered headpiece…they can come in an array of colors, but this particular one might actually work out perfectly for my green + white theme with a splash of yellow-y goodness! I also loved the patent leather orchid combs…very hip and modern…those also can come in different colors, but I think the white is a strong enough statement because of the texture. Best of all, she’s a Brooklyn girl! Check her out!

Tara Mandy from BFF Bridal:
The first one is a shot our photographer caught of the flower girls when they first saw “the bride” (me). You can see from their expressions how magical the whole experience was for them. I think that for a little girl, seeing a bride is probably right up there with seeing Santa Claus. And I love that.
The second one: Of the thousand or so pictures our photographer took, this one always makes me smile the most. For one thing, I can remember how much fun we were having right at that moment. But there are also some details—the earrings that he gave me as a wedding present, his wedding band, the buttons I bought for him in Portugal, the cheesy wedding cake topper (which was his ONE request in the whole year of wedding planning)—that I just find so personally endearing.
