Real wedding: Jeni + Pat

Isn’t a gorgeous wedding the best way to start off the week?  I sure think so!  Jeni and Pat have amazing style and pulled off the coolest foodie wedding!

Patrick and I had just returned from a three month European “sabbatical” when we were surprised by a little bun in the oven! We decided to wait to have a proper wedding so that our little guy could be there to share in the festivities too. However, having a baby and a wedding in one year would prove to be challenging (read: expensive), not to mention having them both in New York (read: SUPER, ridiculously expensive). So, we had to set our financial priorities straight – food, booze, photos and music, in that order.

Luckily, my husband the chef has some wonderful friends at No.7 restaurant who generously hosted both the ceremony and the reception. One of my bridesmaids got herself ordained and gave the most intimate, beautiful reading that I could have ever imagined. I didn’t plan on a theme, but we went with lots of vintage accessories and homemade accouterments. The whole wedding felt like a prohibition era party – lots of dancing and wild abandon.  With the tireless help of my maid of honor and some great friends, Patrick and I had the most fun, stress-free wedding (even with an infant in tow).
