Real Brooklyn wedding: Miranda + Doug

ceremony program flags

Its not every day when you can walk around Brooklyn and see a wedding parade, but thats exactly what DUMBO-ites saw when Miranda & Doug got married!  I would have loved to have seen that!

Miranda and Doug are the sweetest of couples from Charlotte, North Carolina. Sharing their love of New York City, and Brooklyn, it’s no wonder they chose a destination wedding for their special day.

Celebrating the rehearsal dinner at Revel, just steps away from where Doug proposed, everything about this wedding weekend was all about them!

Important to both Miranda and Doug, were the very personal touches to the day, they wanted everyone to feel a part of their true life fairy tale.

The very Brooklyn and certainly unique Powerhouse Arena, was taken from book store to magical ceremony space by the very talented Michelle Edgemont. Filled with baby’s breath and candles, topped off with a gorgeously decorated wooden structure of black and white ribbons for the couple to say their “i dos” under.

Their love of music was also apparent with a full on marching band to parade guests from ceremony over to the reception space at Rebar. The grooms cake, a snare drum, created by a very talented friend of mine, Corey of Corey’s Cakery, was just another added touch. Light up tambourines made the dance-floor glow and guitar picks for wedding favors was not even the half of it! The coolest was their ‘All Access Passes’ for guests to wear and take as a keepsake, as if they had been a VIP at a concert in New York!

From the photobooth props to the wine cork guest book and everything in between, there was not one item of this wedding that didn’t scream Miranda and Doug! It was certainly a wedding to be seen and I am blessed to have been a part of their very special, very unique and very memorable day!!
