Christmastime Elopement in Central Park

After being together for over a decade, Ashley and Tyler, childhood sweethearts from Louisiana, decided that it was time to finally get hitched. They wanted somewhere that would be intimate and private during Christmastime, so a secret getaway to experience the magic of the holidays in NYC was perfect for them. After exchanging their vows in Central Park, they made their way to Rockefeller Plaza for some more photos with the tree and its twinkling lights. The couple even got to experience a snow squall a few hours after they were married! Although Christmastime is by far the busiest time of year here in New York, Ashley and Tyler look like they feel like they are the only ones around in these fabulous photos by Everly Studios!

How did you meet?

We met in Ms. Meyer’s 8th Grade English Class when we were randomly assigned to do a biography on each other’s life – little did we know!

What is your proposal story?

Tyler proposed at the reception of my best friend’s wedding; we have been best friends since we were 13 years old, and she insisted on being a part of our special day. Instead of her throwing the bouquet, she handed it to me and Tyler proposed.

What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?

Our photographer was amazing! She perfectly captured our wedding day in the most beautiful way – not just for my husband and I, but for our family and friends also. The photographer was absolutely 100% worth every single penny. I honestly wouldn’t change anything financially.

What were your favorite parts of the day?

Being able to spend the entire day together, and really just focus on us. Not to mention the beautiful snow squall 6 hours after we got married. We don’t get snow often in Southeast Louisiana.

Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?

Embrace every moment of your wedding day. Don’t lose sight of what matters the most – genuine bliss for you and your partner.
