Real wedding: Sara + Ev part 2

Maybe some of you remember my post a few months ago about Sara and Ev’s amazing wedding…I definitely bookmarked the photos as inspiration for my own wedding. Anyway, Kathryn gave me a heads up on Alison Hotchkiss, the event planner behind this amazing affair, and I asked her to share a little info about the day.

Sara and Evan came to us wanting something different, modern and well designed which is very much a reflection of the couple….They wanted amazing food with emphasis on vegetarian dishes since the groom was a vegetarian so they hired Paula le Duc, the no brainer choice on high end cuisine yet down home and delicious. They wanted to have there ceremony outdoors and the party indoors and the De Young Museum was the perfect site for this. They walked down the aisle to their favorite rendition of a flaming lips song played by a local jazz band…..dinner was served in the Dewilsey court which has a beautiful high ceilings and a gigantic piece of art that went perfect with their decor…..all the tables were square with crisp white linens square chargers and centerpieces were also in crisp whites pea green and the containers were varying modern white ceramic. Gaucho, a local band, played gypsy/jazz music during dinner as the guests were served 2 courses paired with wine….after dinner the couple danced their first dance to a local dj and the party began. Mini cupcakes and ice cream cones were served in the lounge area…a photobooth kept guests attention and guests danced the night away….at the end of the night the guests loaded up the mini coaches and were given a hang-over bag filled with water, aspirin, their favorite sticky buns bought that afternoon, candies and other treats…
