What a bright and fresh take on a wedding brunch! So happy and intimate, with a great color palette!
Intimate weddings are some of my very favorite celebrations to design and plan. I love the contrast between the size of the guest list and the momentous nature of the occasion. The smallness of these gatherings encourage a quality over quantity mentality that’s very near and dear to my heart. When combined with a few unexpected details and a little imagination, the most incredible stories unfold. This shoot was created as restaurant wedding inspiration for a brunch-loving couple who isn’t afraid to break with tradition and have a day-time celebration with their nearest and dearest.The design concept began with a hand-tufted rug by angela adams, a designer celebrated for her fresh perspective on the natural beauty of the Maine landscape. With its clean, asymmetrical burst of sunny oranges, white, and blue, the Jimi is perfectly suited to a brunch wedding. We found a casual elegance and simple beauty in Solo Bistro’s minimalist ambiance and created an understated and intimate affair to match.Our bride wears a knee-length orange dress with a structured peplum. Her accessories include nude open-toe heels, brassy gold studs, and a single bangle. A flower crown of white cymbidium orchids completes the modern yet romantic look. Our groom’s ensemble radiates playfulness with pops of color against soft blues and greys.With an appreciation for fewer better things, the tablescape includes a single row of alternating clear glass bottles and cubed vases with handfuls of orange and yellow tulips, roses, and ranunculus. Their low profile hugs the center of the table and accents the striped cotton napkins and modern shapes of the Scandinavian flatware, china, and glassware. Colorful chairs and pretty, paper mobiles hang from the ceiling giving the space clean lines in a warm setting. The intentionality of each element speaks to the integrity of the couple, hinting at a lifestyle and mindfulness they’ll carry into their future together.
Soft boiled eggs are presented as a first course with local carrot soup, lobster benedict, and fruit-stuffed crepes to follow. Sweets include a two tier paneled cake with a layer of fresh raspberries as well as fudgy brownie bites and fresh baked scones. The care with which the menu was selected can be tasted with each bite and is best enjoyed with a glass of bubbly in hand.
